Horn completes furnace hot repair for RITZENHOFF glass factory

RITZENHOFF, with over 120 years of glass manufacturing experience and unique design heritage, is now one of the most renowned glass manufacturers in Germany. This enterprise is renowned for its meticulously crafted "Made in Germany" high-quality drinking glassware and design products, which have gained widespread favor from consumers worldwide.

On behalf of RITZENHOFF, HORN Glass Industry Co., Ltd.'s subsidiary HORNBau&Service GmbH has undertaken the thermal repair project of a glass melting furnace located in Marsberg. The project was officially launched in September 2025 and was successfully completed according to the scheduled plan in just 21 days.

In order to smoothly carry out the repair work, this glass melting furnace with a daily melting capacity of 80 tons has been thoroughly emptied, creating conditions for large-scale maintenance and construction of the feeding pool, flow tunnel, and distribution channel.

The core challenge of this hot repair project is to scientifically plan and efficiently coordinate the overall construction process while maintaining high temperature throughout the entire furnace without cooling, ensuring seamless connection between each step of the process. Due to the synchronous construction of multiple areas involved in the project, precise coordination and cooperation among various work teams have become the key to ensuring the smooth progress of the project schedule. To overcome the tight schedule, the entire maintenance and construction process adopts a round the clock shift operation mode.

The repair work involves a series of interlocking processes: after completing the controllable emptying of the glass liquid, the construction personnel thoroughly dismantle and rebuild the severely damaged flow holes and distribution channels; At the same time, another professional team from HORN is synchronously carrying out the replacement work of the feeding pool walls, including the replacement of corner bricks, and also implementing brick reinforcement treatment on multiple other key parts.

Throughout the entire hot repair process, the construction party continuously uses endoscopic inspection technology to evaluate the construction scope and work quality in real time, ensuring that each process strictly meets HORN's high-quality standards. With the successful completion of the drying process by HORN, this melting furnace was put back into production and operation in just a few days, while the feeding channel maintained a high temperature throughout the entire hot repair period.
